Cairns/Baby Eleanor

I began writing about our trip to Queensland, explaining the rich history of the places we visited, extolling the beauty of the GBR (Great Barrier Reef), painting a picture of the lovely bed and breakfast we stayed at, etc etc…but then I gave up. Didn’t get far really. Why? Because blogging is so hard and draining and time-consuming. Plus, they do say a picture’s worth a thousand words. So I’ll let the pictures do the talking, and briefly sum up the trip with this:

Far North Queensland rocks.

Dan and I are now scuba certified.

Kangaroo is not good to eat.

Crocodiles are scary.

Scarier than sharks.

Even Great Whites.

Dan and I surfacing after an afternoon dive. Dan touches the giant clam. Back on the boat after our dive. We have mask squeeze (when your mask leaves an outline on your face because it was on tight). Here's a video of me swimming with a sea turtle!

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures Can you spot the croc? That's in very shallow, clean water...
The croc is definitely there! This is big Louie. Check out his monster hands. So there are a lot of cassowaries up in the Daintree region... watch out when driving. We did some exotic fruit tasting. Delish!
Mangroves on the beach!
The rainforest comes right up to the beach! Cool snakey vines/branches

And now introducing -- Eleanor Hayn Jung!

Missionaries Jim and Claudia Jung brought little Ellie into the world June 20, 2010 at 11:39 am at Royal North Shore Hospital in St. Leonards, Australia. She’s healthy, beautiful, and teeny tiny (6.3 lb)! Look how small she is in Daddy’s arms!

Mommy with Ellie the tamale The Jung Family

I can’t wait to start taking up auntie duties again!
